I suppose a lot of what bugged me was the emphasis on his little oddities in behavior such as refusing to wear socks. However, it is a piece of info to consider when purchasing for the library. I agree, not all books can or should be report type books. Also, from a librarian point of view, this book is rather useless for a kid doing a report on Einstein. But I am not at all sure it would make sense to a kid. While I don't really have much that is negative about this book, I don't see a lot that is positive either. I don't know if it is the last page that gets them so excited with the author addressing the kid reader pointing out the kid might be the one to solve some of the questions Einstein left posterity or what. People have been singing their praises over this book. I seem to be having different opinions from most lately.

Just as the concrete finality of It led to King's new internal directions with Misery and The Dark Half, so does the wholesale destruction of Needful Things (and, in effect, the motif of a "town under siege" King had been exploring since 'Salem's Lot) point the way toward the more intimate character studies of Gerald's Game, Dolores Claiborne, and Rose Madder.Īn unnamed narrator opens Needful Things with a folksy, down-home patois that King will later use to great effect in The Colorado Kid and Blockade Billy "You've been here before," he says, directly addressing the reader and assuming he or she has a knowledge of King's other Castle Rock stories. Similarly to the way King chose to end his recurrent "children and monsters" motif with It, his intention with Needful Things is a final statement on a significant portion of his career. Stephen King s first original novel of the 1990s came billed as "The Last Castle Rock Story." After having spent the bulk of his career mapping and populating his famous town, King draws on events from The Dead Zone, Cujo, "The Body," The Dark Half, and "The Sun Dog" to put paid to the fictional microcosm he created. Other present-day parallels – and contrasts – are also noted. Clearly, the Indian love of gold, silver and imported alcohol is not new, Mr Sanyal points out. The resulting constant one-way flow of gold and silver coins at one stage even forced Roman Emperor Vespasian to discourage the import of Indian luxury goods and ban the export of gold to India. There’s djinni and ghouls and traversing the desert by horse, but there’s also modern technology like gun factories and trains. The world feels both modern and historic. The story is this awesome middle eastern, wild west, Aladdin, mystic conglomeration with magic and mythical horses and sand and a sultan and a secret world of magical and powerful beings. Simply put, I loved everything about Rebel of the Sands, from the beautiful cover to the amazingly fitting title to the words inside. Published by Viking Children's Books on March 8, 2016 Tacitus says (chapter 2) that physically, the Germanic peoples appear to be a distinct nation, not an admixture of their neighbors, since nobody would desire to migrate to a climate as horrid as that of Germania. The Germania begins with a description of the lands, laws, and customs of the Germanic people (chapters 1–27) it then describes individual peoples, beginning with those dwelling closest to Roman lands and ending on the uttermost shores of the Baltic, among the amber-gathering Aesti, the Fenni, and the unknown peoples beyond them. The Germania, written by the Roman historian Publius Cornelius Tacitus around 98 AD and originally entitled On the Origin and Situation of the Germans ( Latin: De origine et situ Germanorum), is a historical and ethnographic work on the Germanic peoples outside the Roman Empire. Map of the Roman Empire and Germania Magna in the early 2nd century, with the possible locations of some peoples described by Tacitus as Germanic I rate this book four out of five stars because I do like some romance included in adventure books and this book had almost none. There are also almost one problem in each chapter which makes each page so exciting. You should read this book if you like adventurous stories like Harry Potter. This story is mainly about Quill having a vision of the perfect world, with only perfect non creative people, called the Wanteds. Justine, lives in Quill while Alex and Mr.Today lives in a hidden land of Artime. The problems revolve around the fact that the three characters live in different worlds. They are twins that go through a battle of betrayal caused by Alex. Mr.Today is otherwise known as Marcus and High Priest Justine and normally referred to as Justine. This book’s main characters are Alex, Mr.Today, and High Priest Justine. Looking closer, there were words on the cover that read, “Harry Potter meets the Hunger Games.” I really enjoyed the Harry Potter series and also heard many good reviews about the Hunger Games so I decided that this book would be the ebay of both worlds. This book is a part of the series “The Unwanteds.” At first I chose this book because the cover had a cool color theme with a grand stone cheetah on it.
